History and tradition in the art of excellent service

 

Restaurant Castiço is more than a restaurant which serves mealhadense good pig, with a family care and high quality. The Castiço combines the modernity of the service, universal access to quality at the best of history and tradition of restoration in Bairrada and Aveiro, in particular.

 

Restaurant Castiço was born 35 years ago, in 1975, along the National Highway No. 1 at the southern entrance of the city of Aveiro with the aim of making everyone a moment of comfort and enjoyment of food quality. César Borges and Maria Adelaide Carvalheira Seabra founded this house, promoting a personalized, familiar with refinement and good taste. But the tradition of hotel and catering in the family does not arise here, not this time. The parents of Maria Adelaide Seabra - Manuel Piedade and Maia - and she with them, have long, good taste and know-how, to bairradina cuisine and art of the well to do.

 

Today is a second generation to take the reins of Castiço. Carla Carvalheira and Carlos Castilla - he also grandson and son of a large and remarkable family mealhadense restoration - is a guarantee of continuity, modernity and perpetuate the art of excellent service.

 

In 2008, the Castiço was the first restaurants to be able to bear and be awarded a mark '4 Wonders of the Bureau of Aveiro: Water, Bread, Wine and Piglet '. This is an award of distinction for the prestige, promoted by the city of Aveiro, sponsored by the School of Tourism of Coimbra, which distinguishes the quality, authenticity of the most remarkable gastronomic products bairradina.

 

On the walls of Castiço presents several autographed jerseys of notable players in Portuguese football - like Figo, Fernando Couto, among others - also as a sign of approval for the space and friendship by their owners.
